Third-generation Audi A8 (Typ 4H) was introduced in Miami November 30, 2009 and went on sale in November 2010 as a 2011 model.

D4 A8 has all the light-emitting diode (LED) headlamps, the expansion of Multi Media Interface with touch screen, and an additional 1400-watt Bang & Olufsen Sound System.
2011 Audi A8 was launched in the U.S. with a series of ads known as "Good Night" (a tribute to classic children's stories) and "Release Hounds" (with Kenny G), both ad criticizes Mercedes-Benz S-Class (white 2010 S550 4MATIC) and the old luxury. "Liberation Hounds" aired during the Super Bowl XLV.
Reception for the 2011 Audi A8 has been positive for its fuel efficiency, lightweight, handling and acceleration.
